With its 260 mm objective diameter and 3.000 mm focal length the VMC260L offers a particularly high visual and photographic resolution. VISAC (Vixen 6th order aspherical catadioptric) incorporates high-precision 6th order aspherical primary mirror plus 3-element field correction lens, a ring-fixing metal on the objective primary mirror which decreases the lens flare. This system tidily corrects spherical aberration and field curvature. It also eliminates the need for a big, expensive and heavy front corrector plate found in conventional Maksutov designs. The New Atlux Mount is a midsized Go-To equatorial mount newly designed to work with the Star Book Hand Controller. The mount is designed and manufactured to offer the best slewing and tracking performance in an easily transportable package.
The New Atlux features celestial navigation with the Star Book which includes PEC and Autoguider functions. The Atlux is styled with minimal protrusions. The counterweight shaft is retractable for transport and storage. The Atlux is ideal as a solid platform for long exposure astrophotography.
