The SkyWatcher Dobson 200/1200 mm Pyrex Telescope is a 203 mm/1200 mm Newtonian-based model. It has a paraboloidal primary mirror to eliminate spherical aberration and a four-arm, secondary- mirror bracket with fine supports (0.5 mm thick), to reduce diffraction spikes and light loss. The SkyWatcher Dobson 8 PYREX Telescope features a primary mirror made of Pyrex glass. Because of its very low coefficient of thermal expansion, Pyrex glass is less affected by changing temperatures. The great stability of this low expansion glass ensures high quality images. It is also substantially more resistant to scratching then plate glass. In addition, the SkyWatcher Dobson 200/1200 mm Pyrex Telescope includes a 2 focuser with a 1.25 adapter, allowing the use of either eyepiece size. The new feature-tension control handle correctly balances the optical tube with special designed handles on the base. The design adds enough friction and tension to allow the tube to move easily when nudged but to stay in position when not. Users can easily add or reduce tension by turning on the handle. This feature solves the common balance problem found on many Dobsonians.
