The Meade LXD-75 10 Schmidt-Newton UHTC Telescope is a versatile, high-resolution reflector telescope. Its optics are mounted in precision-machined aluminum cells and in sturdy steel tubes which are baked with highgrade textured enamel paint. The optical tube assembly is closed, reducing air currents inside the tube. This prevents distortion of an otherwise sharp image. The Corrector Lens fully corrects spherical aberration and provides pinpoint star images. The premium-grade Pyrex mirror provides exceptional thermal stability versus competing models using standard plate glass. The stable LXD75 German equatorial mount is a sturdy mount with Heavy-Duty Castings Designed by Meades engineers and manufactured for high-performance observing and astrophotography. Its Shaft & Bearing System is accurate and precise, the RA and Dec axes move effortlessly on four highprecision stainless steel ball bearings. 9-Speed Drive Controls from a rapid slew rate of 4.5°/sec. to 1x sidereal and 3-Star Alignment Ensures precise alignment, all controlled from the AutoStar controller. This eliminates the need for a complicated optical/mechanical alignment process. The heavy-duty, variable-height field tripod with spreader bar brace provides the stability and vibration damping required for visual observation and astrophotography.
